This is a full update and second edition of the Color Cube Volume 1 and 2. The boxes themselves are getting an update, and the palette cards have been reviewed and recategorized for a better experience.
Out of the original 500 palettes from the First Edition, 100 have been retired.
Alongside the new Volumes 1 and 2, the introduction of Volumes 3 and 4 gives more opportunities for better categories and variety, so any box has a huge range of colour choices on its own, without needing all 4.
There are a lot of other updates still to be announced, so it may be best to wait for the full launch before making a decision on which Color Cube is best for you.
Here’s the full breakdown of the changes to the palette cards:
Volume 1 (2nd Edition) keeps 160 from 1st Edition. I’ve moved 25 from Volume 2 (1st Ed.) and created 65 new palettes.
Volume 2 (2nd Edition) keeps 124 from 1st Edition. I’ve moved 15 from Volume 1 (1st Ed.) and created 111 new palettes.
Volume 3 (2nd Edition) includes 187 new palettes, plus 17 from Volume 1 (1st Ed.) and 46 from Volume 2 (1st Ed.).
Volume 4 (2nd Edition) includes 219 new palettes, plus 13 from Volume 1 (1st Ed.) and 18 from Volume 2 (1st Ed.).

I Iove your work so much. There was just ONE problem. My cards and the dividers didn’t all fit into the color cube. I had to keep some of the dividers out. Otherwise I LOVE it.

Lovely sets of pallette cards with nice examples of pictures using each set of colors. I wish they used the actual names of my watercolors but I know each brand has it’s own set of names. I need to get to creating!

Didn’t think it was possible for these to get any better! My goth butt LOVES the black (thank you Sarah, Shane, and Team! Hehehehehe), and having them made out of wood was a great idea even though I have run into zero issues with the straight cardboard ones. The Color Cubes are some of the best, most well thought out art supplies I own. And yes, they are most definitely an art supply! Feeling art block and need inspo? Color Cube. Need a great reference photo for a project? Color Cube. Simply want to find a beautiful color palette for……well, ANYTHING? Color Cube. Need a reference photo that you can actually place next to your swatch so you know whether or not you’ve matched correctly? Color Cube. Want a collection of all of the above that also look amazing on the shelf? If you’ve guessed Color Cube give yourself a pat on the back! My ONLY gripe is that I do not have Color Cube Volumes 5 through 7,419 to put alongside my volumes 1 through 4, lol! I have attached a couple of photos showcasing two of the many ways I have used them: as a straight reference photo for a sketchbook study (sorry, it’s a WIP!) and to find a unique color palette for a different project! Also, wanted to show y’all how great they look on the shelf and how they look amazing with ANY kind of decor!

I struggle with color theory and think these cubes will really help with that! I am a pysanky artist (Ukrainian Easter eggs) and I always default to the same colors and have been trying to break that.
Quality of these cubes are solid!

Great quality and feel of the boxes and cards. The index cards make choosing your palettes quicker, especially if you get sidetracked all the time with all the beautiful colour combos. The boxes look great on my shelf and easily accessible. Will be using forever. Love them.

This is a fabulous teaching tool and my students love it! I wish the colors as vibrant as they are when I look for palettes online, perhaps that’s a limitation of printing of printing on paper? Also, the packaging a lot of unnecessary cardboard, I felt like I was wasting paper. Overall a fabulous product and art tool – thank you!
